Aerial Hoop is a beautiful circus and acrobatics inspired full body workout. This discipline is a great way to build strength and stamina, whilst also improving your core muscles and upper body strength. You will create an array of beautiful shapes on the hoop which will include strength holds, flexibility poses and combinations of tricks.

You will have the opportunity to learn a variety of exciting dynamic tricks, spins, balances and transitions in this above ground class. As you start to learn new moves each lesson, you will be able to experience and enjoy the challenge of sequencing them together, in your very own routine.

Our hoops are rigged via a single point to the ceiling and have a swivel attached, allowing the hoop to spin when you add momentum to your movements. This skill looks particularly impressive, as you are above ground level at all times and feel like you are flying!

There is no previous experience or minimum fitness level requisites to join our new beginner classes - you can start working towards increasing your stamina and endurance from the very first lesson.

DRESS CODE

  • Leggings with any top of your choice

  • No footwear, we train bare feet

  • No jewellery and hair tied back where possible

  • Please do not moisturise 24hrs before your lesson

  • Bring a bottle of water

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

♥︎  Will the hoop be really high?


Don’t worry, we understand the thought of training ‘off the ground’, may be a bit daunting. To get you used to working above ground, our beginner classes start with the hoops quite low to the floor. We will eventually work towards the hoops being higher but we start with them at a lower height, so you can learn all the basic techniques first. We also use professional grade crash mats, so you can train safely at all times.




♥︎ Is there a weight limit on the hoop?


No, please don’t worry - there is no weight limit on our hoops as they are professionally installed and reinforced into the ceiling. They are professional steel hoops and all our rigging attachments are load tested for extreme weights, as they are also designed for rock climbing.




♥︎ Do I need to have good upper body strength to take part?


There is no minimum fitness requirement to join our aerial hoop classes. You will increase your strength and stamina, as you progress with your lessons. The great part about aerial hoop is once you are up in the hoop, you are able to sit on the bottom bar (like a swing) and pause. This gives you time to take a moment to get your breath back, rest your arms if needed and think about the next move.




♥︎  Can I come and watch a class before signing up?


Sorry, we do not allow spectators. We understand that you may be feeling nervous about coming to class and want to check it out first but everyone is ‘in the same boat’, and often feeling the exact same. Our hoop classes are super friendly, small and personal and we only up to 8 participants at any time. So please be brave and come join in!

I used to do synchronised swimming competitively, and when I had to stop through injury, never thought I’d be able to find another way to be active and creative at the same time. Working on the hoop with Abi has built up my confidence and given me back a safe and “happy place” to be.
